The May long weekend is behind us, but the silly season is still a long way off, so we shouldn’t forget the important dates that are fast approaching.

1 June 2023. The EU is on the verge of a real revolution in intellectual property protection. The EU’s unitary patent system will become a reality, and with it – the Unified Patent Court – as reported by Tomasz Szambelan.

The deadline for the approval of financial statements is fast approaching. Adam Czarnota reminds us that there are severe penalties for late filers and that failure to comply will prevent limited liability companies from distributing their profits.

On the other hand, the deadlines for the implementation of the National e-Invoicing System have been slightly postponed, as described by Wiktoria Tracichleb and Jakub Dittmer.

Meanwhile, Jakub Krysa and Michał Waraksa predict that one of the consequences of the Supreme Court’s new resolution to hear appeals in civil cases by three-member panels will be the lengthening of future proceedings.

Whether this will actually be the case remains to be seen, in the meantime, Paweł Mardas reminds us that information is money, and access to it saves a lot of time. And since money has to be protected, it pays to sign an effective nondisclosureagreement.
