New highs in the IP Stars ranking
Infringement of intellectual property rights is an increasingly real and at the same time incredibly serious business risk for many companies. Unauthorised use of patents, the counterfeiting of brands and trademarks, piracy or the copying of registered designs can run into millions of euros in losses and have irreversible consequences – including bankruptcy.
Effective defence against such practices involves many aspects, not the least of which is the guidance of advisors specialising in the protection of intellectual property. How to choose wisely? The best way is to follow the recommendations of objective and independent sources, of which the IP Stars ranking is undoubtedly one.
The first IP Stars 2024 event of the year
We now know the results of the first part of this year’s IP Stars 2024 ranking in the Trademark disputes and Trademark prosecution categories, and we know which firms have been recognised as providing the most effective support in these areas.
And it came as no surprise to us that our Intellectual and Industrial Property team, led for years by Piotr Kochanski and Karolina Marciniszyn, was once again in this group, in both categories.
We know how best to protect trademarks
We have extensive experience in trademark protection and deal with the full range of trademark applications. We act before Polish and international authorities, such as the Polish Patent Office, EUIPO and WIPO. We skilfully combine practical know-how and best practices with an in-depth understanding of realities and objectives to create effective, multi-faceted IP protection strategies.
Having represented some of the largest companies in the pharmaceutical, media, premium brand and FMCG sectors, among others, we have won a number of high-profile IP infringement cases.
Best in class trademark support is just one of our strengths
The IP Stars analysts point out that, in addition to trademark advice, we also excel in other areas of intellectual property law:
“Kochański & Partners is recommended for its trade mark work but it can also advise on other IP matters. Head of IP Karolina Marciniszyn is very experienced in trade marks. She is supported by name partner Piotr Kochański.”
The statements of the researchers are reflected in the opinions of our clients.
“The firm impresses in particular with its incredibly swift, outstandingly expert handling of cases and the trustworthy way in which it deals with our clients at all times. They can rely completely on the legal experts of Kochański & Partners. The firm has been our first point of contact for IP issues in Poland for over 10 years. It is obviously one of the best addresses there.”
The latest IP Stars results are just the first instalment of this year’s edition. In the coming months, we will also learn about the individual recommendations (including Patent Stars, Trade Mark Stars, IP Rising Stars) and who has been recognised in the areas of patent advice, transactions and copyright.
The results of the IP Stars 2024 ranking are available on the website.
