IFLR1000 2023 Ranking | A rise and team & individual re-recommendations
The results of the 32nd edition of the IFLR1000, one of the world’s most prestigious legal rankings, have just been released.
This year’s edition has brought us:
- A rise in the M&A category
- Repeat recommendations in Banking and Project development: Power, and
- Further individual awards for Rafał Rapala (Notable practitioner in M&A) and Marek Król (Highly regarded in Banking, Project finance, Capital markets: Debt, Capital markets: Equity, Asset finance)
It is no coincidence that the IFLR1000 rankings consistently recommend us in the areas that are most important to us – energy transition advice, M&A, and global banking & finance. We are leaders in energy projects, global financings and M&A transactions
Our energy work includes advising on the implementation of the Baltic Pipe, the first undersea gas pipeline connecting Poland to the European energy system. For many months, we have been closely involved in the preparatory process for Poland’s first nuclear power plant, and we have also provided strong support to clients in green hydrogen projects.
We have also strengthened our Banking & Finance Practice, with Marek Król – an excellent lawyer and manager – assuming control in May this year. We advise and assist clients in obtaining financing to develop their business plans and expand into international markets. We also represent the largest Polish banks in CHF-related disputes. We regularly publish a legislative overview of the banking sector, “Banking: today and tomorrow“.
Our M&A practice includes advising financial institutions, investment funds and Polish and foreign companies on major share acquisitions and disposals and on attracting investors. One of our most recent projects in this area was advising Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych on the acquisition of a greenfield site from Polfa S.A., on which our client plans to build a state-of-the-art banknote printing and security paper facility. This will be another significant investment.
