We now know the results of Chambers Europe 2024

Following the announcement of the Chambers Global 2024 recommendations, which this year brought us fantastic news, the results of Chambers Europe 2024 have now been announced. And in this list of the best in Europe, we have not only confirmed our previous very high rankings in the Dispute Resolution category, but we have also advanced in the important and dynamically developing area of Public Procurement.

Jakub Krysa and the Public Procurement Practice Team – people who do not shy away from challenges

The release of billions from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) will be a huge boost to the Polish economy, not least because the vast majority of these funds will be used for investments, research and development projects, conversions, modernisations and purchases. Each of these projects, in turn, will require tendering and public procurement procedures. This is a huge challenge, but also an opportunity for people who have the experience, know-how and resources to handle the largest and most important investment projects to be implemented in our country.

People like Jakub Krysa, who has just been recommended by Chambers Europe as Up and Coming in Public Procurement, joining the most elite group of European lawyers.

This is a well-deserved distinction that our head of Public Procurement Law has earned through hard but very effective work.

Over the past year, Jakub’s team has led legal projects supporting a number of key projects in the construction, infrastructure and transport (including airports, ports, roads and railways), oil, gas and petrochemicals, and energy sectors. He has provided legal and business advice to clients in the IT, waste management, national defence and medical services sectors and also represented companies in appeal procedures.

As head of the Spanish Desk and a member of the team supporting KP’s original (Re)Build (New) Ukraine project, Jakub is a passionate advocate of close international cooperation between partners from Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Japan and elsewhere. He engages in ventures promoting joint projects, monitors tender processes, actively supports investors and activates global partners.

His clients appreciate his efficient cooperation and excellent communication.

“Jakub Krysa’s communication and cooperation was very good and efficient.”

Marek Jeżewski and the Dispute Resolution Practice Team – experts who know their stuff

Another area in which we stand out on the map of Europe’s top law firms, according to Chambers Europe, is Dispute Resolution.

Here is what the authors of the ranking wrote about us:

”Kochanski & Partners is well known for representing clients in international arbitration cases, including investment and commercial arbitration. Partners of the firm also act as arbitrators. The team is also involved in disputes before the CJEU and the European Commission. The firm houses a commercial disputes team dealing with a variety of matters relating to contracts. The team also handles regulatory litigation cases. The lawyers additionally represent private individuals. The team’s clients originate from many sectors, including banking, manufacturing  and transportation.”

Among the experts with individual recommendations was Marek Jeżewski, recommended in the area of Arbitration.

Ranking’s review:

“Marek Jeżewski focuses on international arbitration, regularly representing companies against national states as well as acting in commercial arbitration cases. Jeżewski also represents clients in cases before the European Commission and the CJEU regarding state aid.”

Marek and the Dispute Resolution practice he leads have a strong track record of successful projects in international, commercial, civil and media disputes and disputes involving financial institutions.

Most recently, the Litigation team:

“Marek is very calm and responsive. He also has a deep understanding of the strategic factors at play when litigating or arbitrating in Poland or in cases involving Polish entities.”
