KOCHANSKI ZIEBA & PARTNERS WINS POLAND TAX FIRM OF THE YEAR AT THE INTERNATIONAL TAX REVIEW’S EUROPEAN TAX AWARDS 2017
It’s with great pleasure to advise that Kochanski Zieba & Partners (Kochanski & Partners) has won the award of Poland Tax Firm of the Year at the International Tax Review’s European Tax Awards 2017.
International Tax Review is the leading monthly publication with respect to domestic and cross-border tax issues and is widely read by tax professionals in industry, government, private practice and research.
The prestigious European Tax Awards has taken place annually since 2005 and recognizes the leading international tax professionals from around Europe.
Kochanski & Partners was also shortlisted for Poland Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year.
Rafal Zieba, Managing Partner advises, “We are elated at having been awarded Poland Tax Firm of the Year. Whilst the awards have been in existence for 12 years, this is our first year of entry, which makes this award even more special. Moreover, we were competing with firms such as Deloitte, EY, MDDP and Crido Taxand which focus on tax advice as their core service, whilst we as a law firm provide tax advice as a complementary service to our other strong legal practice areas. This truly demonstrates our full-scope capabilities.”
“It’s a pleasure to win this award and a testament to the fantastic team. Although as a team of ten dedicated to tax we are not of the size of our competitors, being awarded Poland Tax Firm of the Year demonstrates our capacity to work on both smaller local tax matters and the very largest cross-border transactions. We are able to provide a more tailored service. Tax plays an integral role in almost every transaction whether this be a merger & acquisition, real estate or financing – having a leading tax team allows us to understand the tax implications and shape any transaction to the benefit of our client, and this is very much appreciated. The International Tax Review’s European Tax Awards is dominated by EY and Deloitte, and this year’s awards is no exception with these companies winning 54% of the country awards around Europe. It’s fantastic to find ourselves seen in the tax community in the same light as these companies” – commended Tomasz Zaleski, Head of Tax.
Piotr Kochanski, Managing and Founding Partner adds, “Winning this award is further recognition of our client-facing innovative change in strategy which was introduced just under two years ago. Since then we have been short-listed twice in a row in the European Lawyer Awards for Law Firm of the Year Central Europe (2016,2017), been ranked as the only Polish law firm in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers ranking (2016), placed 1st by the Warsaw Business Journal in its Book of Lists ranking of Polish law firms (2016/2017) and now have been awarded Poland Tax Firm of the Year (2017).”
