This is an outstanding achievement as it is the first time that such a senior position in the Committee has been taken up by a Polish lawyer.

The IBA is the largest organisation of lawyers in the world, and has been active since 1947. With more than 80,000 members from over 170 countries, the IBA makes a significant contribution to the development of laws, supports legislative processes and best practices, and actively promotes and shapes the future of the legal profession.

Its members work together in committees to provide practical support to experts in specific areas of law, and to create just laws and regulations that keep pace with the needs and demands of the modern world.

The new role is a great honour and a recognition of Agnieszka Chrzanowska’s professional achievements.
