Malwina En

Where others see challenges, she sees opportunities. Malwina Jagiełło is building the future of the real estate industry

At a time when markets are slowing down and capital is freezing assets, Malwina is finding new ways to get them moving again. With inspiring energy and passion that infects and attracts the biggest players, she proves that vision and courage are two important elements of any well-planned business.

And it is for these qualities that she has been shortlisted for this year’s Top Woman in Real Estate competition in the Legal Advisory Services category.

Capital in motion, even in a market downturn

Last year was a difficult time for the transaction market. Everyone—companies, investors, and markets—struggled with the problem of frozen capital, which blocked investment and development.

However, instead of simply waiting for better times, Malwina opted for unconventional solutions and proposed alternative forms of financing, which for many were still uncharted territory.

The result? She successfully completed several complex sale and lease back transactions, giving her clients the opportunity to unlock capital trapped in their real estate, gaining liquidity and funds for new investments.

Malwina is already coordinating another project in this series. This time, however, it is a much more complex cross-border transaction involving four properties in three different European Union countries. Our expert is the main advisor to the selling party, which confirms her unique competence in this demanding niche.

More than transactions – partnership in development

Malwina knows very well that real estate law is not only about finalizing contracts, but above all about supporting the strategic business goals of clients. That is why she is developing the leasing and commercialization department with great determination, which after only a few months of operation has already attracted the attention of international players and market leaders.

Last year, she acquired several new strategic clients, supported the European expansion of an FMCG industry leader by advising on the lease of a logistics center, and negotiated a complex BTS (build-to-suit) agreement for a well-known cosmetics brand.

In each of these projects, she has shown that she is not only a lawyer, but above all a business partner who deeply understands the needs and goals of her clients.

Real estate law is actually about building something real. Not just buildings or modern infrastructure that will be with us for decades to come, but more comprehensive ideals that will make people’s lives and work more comfortable, safe, and healthy. That’s what fascinates me most about this field. And that is why I want to create it on the one hand, and share it with the other,” stresses Malwina Jagiełło.

These declarations are backed up by concrete actions.

Law that keeps pace with business

Malwina actively works on behalf of the entire industry as an expert on the Real Estate Committee at the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Her voice is that of a practitioner who faces market challenges on a daily basis. That is why she is invaluable, for example, in legislative work on the REIT Act, i.e., for Polish real estate rental companies.

By participating in working groups at the Ministry of Development and Technology, Malwina ensures that new regulations are practical and respond to the real needs of investors.

She is also a lecturer in postgraduate studies in real estate investment management at the Warsaw University of Technology, where she trains and inspires new generations of specialists.

A leader who inspires (and acts)

Malwina is a mentor and role model for many younger lawyers.

Her professionalism and commitment have already been recognized internationally, including by The Legal 500 ranking, which recommends her as a leading lawyer in the fields of Real Estate and Private Equity.

However, her activities go far beyond the law firm:

  • Support for clients’ ESG goals: Malwina creates and implements green clauses in lease agreements, helping companies meet the requirements of the European Green Deal and the CSRD directive
  • Pro bono assistance: Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, she has been helping refugees free of charge by analyzing their apartment lease agreements and protecting them from unfair and abusive rentals
  • Nurturing young talent: She is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (Young Leaders) and has conducted her own series of workshops, “Real Estate Law Academy,” for students at the University of Warsaw

Malwina Jagiełło proves that the best lawyers shape the world around them and change it for the better. Combining legal precision with business intuition and inexhaustible energy, she not only masterfully closes deals, but above all builds lasting value. For her clients and the entire industry.
