Kochański & Partners Master Academy 2025 | Energy Law Academy
Nuclear power is becoming a key element in Poland’s energy transition. Everyone expects it to develop dynamically and comprehensively in the coming decades. However, the road from planning to commissioning of a power plant is long and challenging, and (the best) lawyers are needed at every stage of the process.
Indeed, the legal aspects associated with the construction and operation of nuclear power plants are a complex ecosystem of regulations that requires not only highly specialised knowledge, but also practical know-how in the implementation of such projects and in-depth analysis of complex issues at the intersection of law, technology and cyber security.
It is worth becoming acquainted with these issues, understanding them and investigating them, as this knowledge can open up completely new doors in professional development. And since the number of experts in this field in Poland is extremely limited, we would like to invite students interested in energy law to a meeting with Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, head of the Nuclear Law Practice and one of the few lawyers who can boast of practical experience in such projects.
Sounds interesting?
What are we going to talk about?
- We will provide a comprehensive overview of the legal aspects of nuclear energy from a national and international perspective
- We will talk about the role of the lawyer in the process of developing a nuclear power plant – from the initial plans, through the subsequent stages of implementation, to commissioning (and possibly subsequent decommissioning)
- We will briefly but practically discuss the legal basis of the nuclear business – the statutes, international agreements and other legislation governing the industry
- We will highlight the practical aspects of providing legal services for nuclear projects – such as the types of assignments and the specific characteristics of clients, e.g. technology providers, financial institutions or construction companies
Who is this event for?
This is a closed meeting for students interested in energy law and the latest technologies in the energy sector, members of the Energy Law Student Research Circle at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.
