Advocate, Partner, Head of Technologies/ Data Protection/ Forensics
In his practice, Maciej Mackiewicz focuses on new technologies law, personal data protection, cybersecurity and criminal economic law.
He has led a number of high-profile transactions in the area of corporate security, internal fraud prevention, and conducted numerous comprehensive audits and implementations related to personal data protection in the telecommunications, e-commerce, financial, medical and energy industries.
Maciej is an expert in providing corporate services to companies and their governing bodies, and was also a member of the supervisory board of a joint-stock company.
Maciej has previous experience working for a business law firm and one of Poland’s largest telecommunications companies in the area of corporate and regulatory security. He also worked for companies involved in the construction of the first Polish nuclear power plant, where he was director of corporate, and for a government administration agency.
He is the founder and coordinator of the “Tel Sec” Telecommunication Security Forum, a conference organised jointly by teams responsible for security of the largest telecommunication operators.
Maciej also advises clients on commercial criminal law, representing them in criminal proceedings.
Maciej’s professional interests are focused on the combination of new technology law and criminal law. He is particularly interested in research on cybercrime and white collar crimes.
