Jacek Kozikowski, PhD, LL.M.
Counsel, Head of Asian Desk at K&P
Jacek Kozikowski specializes in international economic law, primarily in the area of international commerce and investment. He provides day to day legal advice to companies operating in the energy, natural resources and chemical sectors with a specific focus on the international aspects of the supply and demand of energy.
Jacek has experience providing legal advice to foreign investors during investment disputes with a state, where an investment was undertaken pursuant to Bilateral Investment Treaties (BIT). As a Head of K&P’s Asian Desk, Jacek is an active participant of the Polish-Asian business exchange, facilitating both the introduction and continued operation of Asian clients in Poland in addition to supporting Polish clients looking to expand their business to Asian countries.
Prior to joining K&P, Jacek spent some years in Japan, gaining significant business experience in international roles. Following his selection for the Cross-Border Legal Institution Design scholarship program at the Nagoya University, Japan, Jacek completed his PhD and was awarded his doctorate in international investment law. In 2013, he completed an internship in the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in the Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific in South Korea. Following this, Jacek took part in the 11th Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong, representing Nagoya University (and was ranked second at the national stage in Japan). Jacek also took a two month research stay at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) in Rome, Italy where he worked on finishing his doctoral dissertation.
