The Ministry of Finance has recently announced a package of amendments to the General Tax Code, most of which will come into force on 1 January 2026.
The new regulations will comprehensively change key areas of tax law, including those relating to:
- Limitation of tax liabilities
- MDR reporting
- Methodology for conducting tax reviews and tax audits by tax authorities
- Tax overpayments and refunds
- Tax remission
As announced by the Ministry of Finance, the changes will simplify and streamline the rules for settlements with the tax authorities on the one hand, but will also tighten the existing regulations on the other. It is therefore worth preparing for them.
In practice, the planned changes are intended to simplify the rules for settlements with the tax authorities, but will also significantly tighten existing rules, particularly in the area of tax audits and tax proceedings.
Given the recent increase in the number of tax audits, it is vital for companies to be aware of the changes being introduced so that they can better prepare for possible future audits by the tax authorities.
This requires a detailed analysis of the new proposals and the identification of potential benefits and risks from the perspective of specific industries and companies.
In fact, we can clearly see the areas where problems of interpretation of the new rules may soon arise. And this will certainly have a significant impact on the day-to-day business of many companies.
This is why we invite you to an event where we will:
- Provide a comprehensive analysis of all the proposed changes
- Highlight provisions that are beneficial to taxpayers and those that may create additional risks
- Compare the proposed changes with their actual wording contained in the draft amendment
- Identify the areas of greatest interpretative concern
- Answer individual questions from participants
