Position: Advocate and the Firm's Founding and Managing Partner. Mr. Kochański is head of the Firm's IP Department and co-leader of its Litigation & ADR Department. Specialized in multi-jurisdictional litigation, arbitration, mediation and regulatory matters and having been active in developing a mature Polish IP practice since the early nineties, he has advised clients from the automotive, pharmaceutical, trade and logistics, detergents and house hold cleaning products, food and beverages, FMCG, IT, telecoms, media, mining, energy, construction and military sectors among others, as well as banks and financial institutions and government agencies. As a Polish Partner with Hogan & Hartson, one of three American law firms to first establish a presence on the Polish market following the collapse of Communism in 1991, Mr. Kochański was active in a number of high profile projects which addressed Poland's issues following its systemic transformation. These among others, involved legislative practice matters for the Polish non-communist government, such as co-drafting the first Polish mass-privatization law, copyright and intellectual property acts of laws and regulations, securities and mutual fund law and the first Polish public procurement law. From 1996, as a Partner with White & Case and as a member of this firm's Polish branch management board, Mr. Kochański managed their then dynamically growing IP and technology and commercial litigation and arbitration practices in Poland. Since establishing KZRP in 1999, Mr. Kochański represents a variety of leading companies in Poland, many of which belong to the largest group of Polish subsidiaries of the world's best known corporations. Mr. Kochański has been personally recognized as one of the few Polish Most Recommended Lawyers for IP and Life Sciences' including being recommended as the First Polish IP Lawyer by the prestigious PLC Which Lawyer Year Book in 2006. Currently, Mr. Kochański concentrates on the Firm's new IP Practices, such as E-Commerce and New Media Technology and Digitalization and on the Firm's Litigation & ADR Practice. Recently, he has been extensively involved in Polish emerging Business Mediation Practice. Between 1993 and 1995, Mr. Kochański lectured on the Legal Aspects of Technology Transfer, as a Visiting Scholar at the George Washington University in Washington DC. Mr. Kochański has been a Member of The Kraków Bar since 1986, The Warsaw Bar since 1991, and The Washington DC Bar since 1995.
